A JUDGE FOR THE FUTURE
Let's Make a Difference
Criminal Justice Reform
The law should work for all, and Justice should not depend upon how much money you have, who you are, or who you know. Justice should be determined based on the law and the facts. It is time to stop doing things the way they have always been done, and start employing some new strategies designed to actually fix the system.
Although we have been “tough on crime for years”, it is not working. We must address crime in a way that serves to end the conduct, while bettering our communities. We must add services to the system that address prevention, recidivism and victim impact and provides for community input. We can do this by partnering with existing organizations that have proven programs and a track record of helping people in their respective areas. We have to offer more services to victims of crime, because a conviction will not address their hurt or trauma. My goal will be aimed at preventing crime and recidivism to make our communities better and safer for all citizens.
We have to bring the community back into the system, and that goes beyond jury duty.
